The Start of Something

I’ve been terrible with keeping up with my blog. And I’ve been even worse keeping up with other people’s blogs. If I haven’t visited you in a while, I’m sorry. I haven’t abandoned you, I’m just super lazy.
Lately I’ve just been working and enjoying my summer. There’s nothing major going on with me. I’ve been reading a lot. My summer reading goal/list goes as follows:

-Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte (done)
-Bossypants by Tina Fey (done)
-Middlemarch by George Eliot
-The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
-A Room With A View by E.M. Forster
-This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald
-The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde

I just realized that I have two Oscar Wilde’s in there. Oops. I tried my best to mix time periods and to read both male and female authors. I’m excited to embark on Middlemarch soon. It’s a monster of a novel.

I’ve also been writing! Not very well. But it’s the first idea I’ve had in a long while. Most likely it will end up being a short story– I don’t think I have the capacity to write a full book. I’ve written about 5 pages so far, which is the longest I’ve made a story in a while (maybe ever?). I kind of want to post what I have, but it’s really not very good yet. The moment I’m finished, I promise to post it here.

Sorry for being a lazy slob. Part of the reason I haven’t been around is that my laptop charger is broken. So I haven’t been on the computer much. I’ve been stealing my mom’s charger in short bursts, but it doesn’t quite fit my laptop and never gives me a full charge. Whatever! I’m making excuses for my laze.

I will be back soon, all of you! I look forward to catching up with your blogs once my laptop actually has power.

  1. I can relate. I have not been keeping up either and I don’t have as impressive a list as that. Actually, I have no list at all. Perhaps I should get a list. It is a rather good idea. You have some good books on there. Mine would not be so fine….perhaps a bit too self analytical. At least you have a list…I have NO list and am lazy. That is like ….well….lazy ass lazy. Thanks for the subliminal shove to be less lazy!! Can’t wait to read the story.

    • Hey, thanks for commenting! I was sure that no one would care about this post haha.
You should definitely make a list! The summer months make me so lazy. I think I would just lay around in bed all day if I didn’t have lists.
However, freedom and spontaneity are just as important as structure, so I try not to take list-making too far.
      Thanks again for coming by!
